THE PAST…I couldn’t believe it. How could I oversleep through the LSAT? Everything was so vivid in my mind. My anxiety level went through the roof as I tried to pull myself out of bed, looking at the clock and noting I was an hour and a half late. The test had already started.
What an auspicious beginning to my legal career. I couldn’t even make it to the LSAT on time!
Luckily, it was just a dream. It was the actual dream I had the morning I did in fact have to wake up and take the test. I woke up in a cold sweat, wondering if I had really missed the test or not. What day was it anyway?
I soon realized that I had not missed the test. I was still on track for law school.
I hadn’t taken any courses to prepare for the LSAT. Things were moving too quickly. Up until a couple of weeks ago, I didn’t even know I was graduating from college this semester. I managed to get late enrollment into the test. I do remember the test being difficult. But my most vivid memory is when I completed a particular section. There are all sorts of rules about having to stop. You couldn’t turn to the next to start a new section until you were told. There were severe penalties for looking at the next section’s questions ahead of time.
Unfortunately, I had stopped one particular section a full two pages before the end of the section. I guess I blew that part of the test. My average scores were enough to get me into law school. Looks like I wouldn’t have to get a job after all.
