I have done a lot of thinking these past few months about an issue first raised at LexThink. The issue was “Who is the perfect client?” the premise of the question is that lawyers should spend more time thinking about what kind of clients they want to have. In an hourly billing firm, I suppose the perfect client is defined exclusively by one that pays their bill on time. Pursuant to Matt Holmans advice at the Non Billable Hour Blog I actually have fired several clients in starting my new firm.
I will start to post my bullet list of my perfect client over these next few weeks. I encourage you to chip in your thoughts concerning this issue which touches all attorneys.
