Okay, so on Saturday I am supposed to put a name to the blog I have kept nameless for + two years now. Of the few things that I fear would come from my revelation, a major worry is of a shudder among the collective blogger psyche that turns away those who would like to sit down and blog for the first time, but without any accountability.
I have already posted on those who have been anonymous in their own day, and I hope that those hesitating before their keyboard realized that "skipping the name" has been something authors have been doing for all of history. Even THE Thomas Jefferson kept his name off of his work at one point – so there is no reason for you to fear doing the same.
Silence is the greatest danger in our world. Blogging breaks that silence, and anonymous blogging just as much. So if you have something to say, no matter how uninteresting you may think it is, I urge you to put it to a blog; because in doing so you may just find your own little fame, you may reach out to someone who can relate to your work, or even enlighten someone just surfing the internet in a language that they understand. So do it! Blog for the sake of speech, for the sake of giving your ideas to the world, and if you would rather "skip the name" feel free – because speech’s inherent value is unassociated with the person who said it.
